The Sparks Fly…

About four years ago, my family fell in love with a babysitter. We really did… her name is Rachel. She is fun, energetic, reliable and too cute for words. Oh, and she totally loves my kids (or at least does SUCH a good pretending that I’ve fallen for it hook, line and sinker). Then she introduced our family to her long-time boyfriend, Todd… and we were smitten all over again. So how excited was I when I heard about their engagement? Absolutely over the moon! And I pretty much man-handled them into letting me design their wedding invitation.

Todd is an architect, so he has a strong preference for clean lines, white space and modern sensibilities. I convinced him (maybe persuaded, maybe bullied… I’m still not sure) to let us paint the edge of the invite in a dark teal.

Totally fun job… love the way it turned out! This is a great example of letterpress as a way to showcase paper and type instead of graphics, color and ornaments.

What a great way to add a pop of color and character to a streamline design!
