There’s one shot of the pretty gorgeous, lace-wrapped invitation that we created … If you’d like to see their suite in full, check it out here (vintage map of Charleston and all)!
After working side by side with each bride on invitations many months before the actual event, it’s always such a joy to see how the whole thing came together on the day of. Recently, I was positively drooling when I viewed the wedding pictures sent over by a dear client, Laura. The flowers! The cake! The carriage! The dress… ooh la la, Laura. Total stunner. A gorgeous day for a gorgeous bride.

I love the little kicks of “Tennessee” here and there: the wagon wheel chandelier and cowboy boots. Nothing quite like a combination of boots and lace, is there? I also loved the lounge area for guests to relax and take in the South Carolina ocean breeze… Perfect!

This little invitation has truly been a labor of love! Sweet Laura wanted something soft, feminine, classic, and unique for her Charleston, South Carolina wedding invitation. Working with a neutral palette of grays, whites, and creams, we chose to blind impress some of the graphic elements. This created a texture without color—perfect for that special “wow” factor. Laura’s main inspiration was lace, so we really took that and ran with it!

I have a few favorite elements in this design: First, I’m always a sucker for any kind of textural wrap or twine enclosure. Typically, we do this with twine and a hang tag (see example here). With this design though, we decided to use pieces of lace wrapped around the invitation, then tie it off with silver-threaded twine. This allowed the textured lace to be the real star, with just a glimmer of that shimmer from the twine.

Another favorite element is the vintage Charleston map envelope liner. We found an old map of Charleston, scanned it in, printed it and die cut it as a liner for the inner envelope. Then, the bride and groom kept the map, framed it and have it as meaningful artwork in their new home together. Love it!

Finally, I am die-hard, head-over-heels in love with the flap of this envelope! It’s a lace pattern that has been letterpressed to cover the entire flap in gray ink. Oh! I can’t forget to mention the rounded corners—I always think that rounded corners add that thoughtful detail and a touch of a modern aesthetic.

See more of this invitation here. Also, if you adore lace, be sure to check our intern Emily’s post on lace invitation inspiration.

Enjoy!

1) Cut and Paste designed the beautiful invitations featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper – Using actual fabric adds a little dimension to your invitations!

2) White lace invitation designed by Palm Papers found on Minted.com – Just having a lace impression or illustration can bring that vintage touch to any invite.

As save the date season is majorly upon us, one product that is proving to sell head and shoulders above the rest is our “Lace Numerals” design. This layout is perfect for the couple looking for a romantic, slightly vintage feel, while still maintaining a sophisticated, clean and modern edge.

Here, you see the product with photography by Meggie Velasco Photography in a classic black, white and red color combo.

The couple above were getting married in Newport, Rhode Island and wanted to showcase the Rosecliff Mansion property on the save the date rather than a picture of themselves. We customized the icon between the lacy numerals and created a small rose as per the client’s request. The color palette was a blush pink and black.

This design has also been printed in aqua and black, hot pink and purple and just recently a gorgeous yellow palette. Each one looks great!
