A note from Team Happy
With great sadness, we announce the death of Sarah Pattison, our owner, creative director, leader, and friend. Sarah passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, age 45, after a long battle with inflammatory breast cancer.
Read Sarah’s obituary for more details on her Celebration of Life Service and where memorials may be made. Watch the video of Sarah’s Celebration of Life Service. Read Sarah’s blog about her cancer journey.
Thank you for the outpouring of your kind words and stories of Sarah’s legacy.
xoxo,
Team Happy
Thank you
For sending beautiful flower arrangements with heartfelt messages, for sharing countless stories of Sarah’s impact, for stopping by the shop just to say hi and swap favorite Sarah moments, for reaching out to help our team in ways we could not have imagined: thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
As we carry Sarah’s brightness and joy into the days ahead, we are reminded of a note from Sarah. It was in the closing of her email with the blog she wrote last year after finding out her cancer had metastasized to her liver:
“Through the good and the bad, your participation with us in this story is an enormous encouragement every dang day. All my love.”
We echo this sentiment. Every dang day.
All our love,
Team Happy
“Sarah invites those reading her blog toward truth. As she narrates her story with courage and vulnerability she shares in love so clearly and winsomely that the reader is eased into personal truth telling, hope, and growth. We all face lives full of strain, stress, sorrow, and pain as well as hope layered with redemption and restoration. Sarah courageously and kindly encourages us, as we listen to her incredibly difficult process, to consider the wise way as we seek comfort and direction. And, most of all, she challenges us to prioritize truth and love in our lives. Reading Sarah is well worth time and effort...your life might be changed.”
